Robert A. Carter

Mr. Robert Avington Carter, 99, of Advance passed away Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 6, 1911 in Davie County to Ross and Annie Phelps Carter. Mr. Carter was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and also from farming. He was a member of Mocks United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie DeEtte Carter. Surviving is a son, William Carter and wife Peggy of Advance; a grandson, Michael Carter of Clemmons; a granddaughter, Wanda Wisecarver and husband Robert of Advance; four great grandchildren, Patrick Carter and Jason, Jessica and Jaclyn Wisecarver and a great-great grandson, Gavin Wisecarver. A funeral service will be held 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 12, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel with Rev. Kevin Morris, Rev. Mark Harper and Rev. Robert Wisecarver officiating. Burial will follow at Mocks United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., prior to the service on Sunday, at the funeral home.
