Robert Lee Fox, Jr., 88, died on Tuesday, May 29, 2018. Robert was born in the mountains of North Carolina on April 9, 1930, the son of Robert Lee Fox, Sr. and Cara Gregory Fox.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ellen Griffin Fox; his son, Randall Lee Fox and wife Faye Archer Fox, their children, Zachary, Kelsea and Dillon Fox; his daughter Kimberly Fox Statham, her children, Mary Hannah Andrews, Simon and Emerson Statham; his son, Robert Lee Fox, III and wife Crystal Broadway Fox, their children, Adam and Kirsten Fox; Morgan Fox (deceased); Courtney Reavis and Christopher Campbell; one great grandchild Ava Reavis; two brothers, R.B. Fox and wife Velma Fox and children and Kermit Fox and wife Cleo Fox and daughter.
Robert proudly served in the United States Army from 1948 - 1954 in Italy and Austria. During the Korean Conflict he patrolled the borders of Germany and Austria. After his military service he was employed by the Reynolds and Hanes Companies and retired from Gant Oil Company.
Robert will be remembered for being a loving, loyal, giving and strong husband, father and friend. Above all his relationship with God meant the most to him. He will be remembered by living his Faith. His character was proven to those who loved and knew him, not only for encouraging words but by his deeds.
Robert will be buried in a private ceremony at Westlawn Gardens of Memory on Friday, June 1, 2018, following visitation at 1:00 pm and funeral service at 2:00 pm at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jim Thompson officiating.
