Robert Marshall Hardy January 17, 1935 ~ October 22, 2013 Robert was born, and grew up, in and around Canton, MS. He served four years in the US Air Force. Robert attended Mississippi State University, graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. He later attended Florida Institute of Technology and earned a Master's Degree in Management Science. For 32 years, Robert designed and developed many firsts in high-tech systems, which included the NASA Saturn Apollo Space Program. He holds five patents. Robert spent 29 years working in various positions within General Electric, including 15 years at GE Global Research Center. After Robert retired as a professional engineer, he then counseled small business owners and managers for 12 years with SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives), serving as chair of the Albany, NY, chapter for two years. Robert was also a life member of the Institute Of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). He conducted Western business seminars in Russia, Ukraine and China. Robert was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by Uzhgrod (Ukraine) National University. Robert and his wife, Pat, reside in Winston-Salem, NC where he served on the board of the International Sister Cities Program of Winston-Salem. He occasionally counseled businesses and conducted workshops. They are members of the Old Salem Chapter of the Antique Auto Club of America and the Mohawk Antique Auto Club (Schenectady, NY). ""The Boss Is In"" was Robert's first official book publication. Robert is survived by his wife of 57.5 years, Pat. He is also survived by a son, Keith Marshall Hardy and wife, Sondra, of Houston, TX; a daughter, Juliet Amanda Hardy, of Milton, NC; his brother, Henry Hardy and his sister, Alice Abel, both of Lexington, MS. There are four grandchildren, Lindsay Hardy, Ian Stephens, Alisha Koepf and Claire Koepf. There are three step-grandchildren, Ashley, Jessica and Jonathan Hayes, and also one great-grandson, Landon Stephens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cleveland Hardy and Willie Lynn Wallace Hardy, and his daughter, Laurie Linn Hardy Stephens. There will be no formal services.
