Robert Lloyd Holland passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on January 3, 2015. He was born on December 24, 1956 to Earl Wilford Holland and Ellen Louise Kinnaird Holland (Casparian) in San Francisco, CA. Bob served in the US Army and was a proud member of the American Legion and American Legion Riders, Post 55 in Winston-Salem. He loved music, especially oldies and R&B. Dancing, entertaining, and riding his Harley-Davidson were among his favorite hobbies. More than anything, he loved his family, especially his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his sister, Pamela Jeanne Holland; and stepfather, Richard Casparian. Surviving, are his loving wife of 27 years, Karen Faith Holland; children, Christina Cain (Robert), Kevin Groves, Richard Holland, Robert Holland, II (Candy), Elton Holland, and Shawn Holland; grandchildren, Shayla, Aiden, and Rayne Holland; also, three grandbabies on the way who he was looking forward to meeting. Also surviving are his brother, Frank Holland; niece, Jessica Holland; and numerous friends who he considered as family. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, January 5, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mark Wallace officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to American Legion Post 55, 111 Miller Street Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
