Robert Thomas Kirkner

Mr. Robert Thomas Kirkner, 76, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Richmond, VA on February 15, 1938. Mr. Kirkner was a veteran of the United States Air Force and retired from U.S. Air. He was an active retiree and past treasurer of the local I.A.M. 2444 and was also a past treasurer of the N.C. State Alliance for Americans and the AFL/CIO. Mr. Kirkner was also a lobbyist and fought for U.S. worker's rights. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Kirkner; three daughters, Traci Kirkner, Bridgett Weldner and husband Michael, Joy Kirkner; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter. A Graveside Service will be conducted 11:00 AM Saturday, July 19, 2014 at Crestview Memorial Park with Pastor Gordon Flanagan, III officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel.
