Robert Earl Mabe

Mr. Robert Earl Mabe, age 82 of Winston-Salem, passed away Saturday, November 29, 2014. He was born March 9, 1932 in Montgomery County to the late Earl Baldwin Mabe and Mary Needham Mabe. He was a graduate of Star High School playing on the basketball and baseball teams and both teams went undefeated those years. Mr. Mabe was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, a lifetime member of the Elk's, served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and had retired from RJR Nabisco after 33 years of service. His parents and two brothers, Clarence and Fetzer Mabe preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Debra West Phillips and husband John (the son Robert never had) and Sandra L. Mabe both of Bermuda Run and two granddaughters, Lauren A. West and Danielle A. Petree and several nieces and nephews. A private graveside service will be held at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery by Rev. Christopher B. Hughes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethel United Methodist Church, 2170 Bethel Methodist Church Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Forsyth Humane Society
