Mr. Robert "Bob" Howard Phillips, Jr., 71, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2018 at Oak Forrest Health and Rehabilitation. He was born April 21, 1947 in Forsyth Co. the son of Robert Howard Phillips, Sr. and the late Mildred Aaron Phillips. Bob was a member of Woodland Baptist Church in Winston-Salem. He served our country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was awarded two Purple Hearts. Bob retired from Tobacco Exporters in Tucker, GA and then returned to make his home in Tobaccoville. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Phillips of the home; a daughter, Deanna Crnkovic (Ricky) of Walnut Cove; a son, Greg Phillips (Maria) of Charlotte; his father, Robert Howard Phillips, Sr. of King; a step-daughter, Tammy Lawson of King; six grandchildren; two sisters, Becky Ann Marsh of Mocksville and Christy Phillips of Winston-Salem; and a brother, Ricky Lee Phillips of Winston-Salem. A graveside service with military rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2018 in King Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7:00-9:00 this evening, Friday, May 18, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to: Woodland Baptist Church Building Fund, 1175 Bethania-Rural Hall Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
