Robert ""Bob"" Plunkett passed away Friday afternoon at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County, on June 13, 1933 to the late Coy Plunkett and Carrie Burcham Plunkett. Bob served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked at McLean Trucking company. When Bob was not beating Pastor Bill McKenzie on the golf course, he was volunteering at The Shepherd's Center of Greater Winston-Salem. Bob was a member at Pinedale Christian Church where he served as a former Deacon and Elder. He was preceded in death by his wife Elizabeth Dew Plunkett; two brothers Otis Harold and Jackie Plunkett; and sister Marie Plunkett Teague. Bob is survived by two sons Robert D. Plunkett and Chick Plunkett and wife Robin; two granddaughters Maggie Ward and husband Matthew and Mollie Plunkett; and a lifelong friend Calvin Cooper. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday June 13, 2017 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Bill McKenzie officiating. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall following the service.
