Robert Allen Quarles

Mr. Robert Allen Quarles passed away from an unexpected illness, Sunday, March 2, 2014 with his loving family by his bedside. Robert was born on January 20, 1955 in Bossier City, Louisiana to the late Allen Quarles and Faye DeMoss Quarles. He spent his childhood in Louisiana and most of his adult life in Houston, Texas. He was a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church in Houston, Texas before moving to King, North Carolina with his family in 2011. Robert loved God, his family and the great weather and mountain scenery in North Carolina. Robert was involved with the Board of Directors of the West Stokes Prowlers Competition Cheerleading Team, along with his wife. Robert spent over 30 years in the audio-visual and security systems field, most recently as a Sales Engineer with Strategic Connections, Inc. in Winston-Salem, NC.
Robert is survived by his wife of nine years, Anita Hall Kiehl Quarles; a daughter, Amanda Quarles; and a step-son, Justin Kiehl, all of the home. Robert also leaves behind many beloved friends and co-workers from the Houston and Winston-Salem areas.
He is also survived by his mother and one sister, Donna Gilley of Arlington, Texas and a son, Robert Douglas Quarles of the Houston, Texas area.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 6th at Hayworth-Miller Chapel in Rural Hall conducted by Reverend Kristin Huffman of Houston. The family will receive friends beginning at 2:00 pm, prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Pinnacle Baptist Church cemetery.
