Robert Underwood Jr.

Mr. Robert Lee Underwood Jr., 69, passed away Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born in Forsyth County on January 29, 1949 to the late Dorothy Baynes Underwood and Robert Lee Underwood Sr. Mr. Underwood was an avid Yankees fan. He loved the outdoors. He was a humble soul who never had a harsh word and enjoyed making people laugh. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Underwood was preceded in death by his brother, Mark Anthony Underwood. He is survived by two children, Keith Underwood (Sherry) and Jennifer Underwood; four grandchildren: Justin Merrell, Brandy Underwood, Austin Underwood, and Chad Underwood; and two sisters, Linda Worley (Johnny) and Susan Underwood. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 14, at Forsyth Memorial Park with the Rev. Jerry Martin officiating. The family will receive friends at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall from 12:00 noon until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
