Robert Gene Ward

Mr. Robert Gene Ward, 80, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born March 13, 1932 in Surry County to John Frank and Pearl Leftwich Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mildred Newman Ward; a grandson, Tyler Ward; one brother, Everette Ward; and one sister, Faye Bodenhamer. Surviving are four children, Randy Gene Ward (Cindy) of SC, Robert Dale Ward (Kathy) of Walnut Cove, Diane Ward of Tobaccoville, and Arlie Dean Ward (Tracy) of Winston-Salem; grandchildren, Ashley Widener, Chad Ward, Travis Ward, Robbie Ward, Wesley Ward, Amanda Collins, Lindsay Spainhour, Dylan Ward, Trevor Ward and Zoe Ward; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Glen and Olin Ward; and two sisters, Ila Mae Maranville and Ethel Mabe. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Mr. Randy Isom officiating. Burial will follow in Ivey Green Baptist Church Cemetery in Surry County.
