Robert Edward Yates, Sr., 88, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Alexandria, VA to the late Claude and Margaret Smith Yates. Mr. Yates retired from the AC Delco Division of General Motors with 30 years of service. Surviving is his wife, Barbara Milliken Yates; children, Robert Yates, Jr. of Locust Grove, VA, Bonnie Woomer of Piney Flats, TN, Barry Yates of Alexandria, VA, and Bryan Yates of Clemmons, NC; five grandchildren, Jennifer Yates, Sarah West, Hannah Yates, Sara Yates, and Emily Yates; also surviving is a great-grandchild, Chloe West. There will be no formal services for Mr. Yates.
