Roberto Spitzer

Mr. Roberto Enrique Thimann Spitzer 75, of Winston-Salem passed away Monday, December 18, 2017 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born May 23, 1942 in Venezuela, the son of the late Bernard Thimann and Elisabeth Spitzer. Mr. Thimann was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Salem College and was a teacher at both Diggs-Latham and Ward Elementary Schools where he was highly appreciated. He was known by his students as "Mr. T". Survivors include his wife, Margarita Thimann of the home; one daughter, Ida Grantham and husband, Patrick of Jacksonville, FL; one son, Al E. Thimann and wife, Caroline of Los Angeles, CA; two granddaughters, Sarah Granthan of Jacksonville, FL and Anna Grantham of Ganesville, FL; one grandson, Konrad of Florida; six brothers and one sister; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 until 4:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home on Silas Creek Parkway with a memorial service at 3:30 PM.
