Roger Keith Garrell, Sr.

GARRELL
Winston-Salem Mr. Roger Keith Garrell, Sr., 78, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Columbus County on May 16, 1936 to the late Oscar and Emma Hewitt Garrell. Mr. Garrell was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a very hard working man. He retired from Spector-Redball Trucking Company and later owned R&K Lawn Service. Mr. Garrell loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Mr. Garrell enjoyed fishing and cooking, particularly baking cakes. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Peggy Garrell; daughter, Taina Norris (Rick) and a son, Keith Garrell (Ellen); three grandchildren, Cameron, Adam, and Allison; sister, Mary Johnson; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 3:00 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 PM prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 4:30 PM at Jessup Grove Baptist Church in Pilot Mountain. The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Klein and staff for the care that was given to Mr. Garrell.
