Roger Clark Porter

KERNERSVILLE - Roger Clark Porter, 70, passed away Saturday, July 30, 2011. A native of New York, he was born December 22, 1940 to the late Iva Mae Walker and Newton Edwin Porter. Mr. Porter was a very loving husband and father. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved life. He was a contractor by trade and leaves behind many loved ones and great friends. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Barbara Jean Porter; son, Jonathan Nicholas Porter of Wilmington; daughter, Jill Elizabeth Porter Noonan and her husband Liam of Kernersville; two brothers, Gordon and Warren Porter; in laws, Janice Cooper and Robert Battig, Wanda and Harold Ball, and Donna Fry; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted at 6:30 PM, Friday, August 5, 2011, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Family will receive friends following the service.
