Roger Watson

Mr. Roger Dale Watson, 69, passed away Thursday, November 09, 2017. He was born in Princeton, WV on January 24, 1948 to the late Helen Tyree Watson and Charlie Hampton Watson. Roger was a faithful servant of the Lord and served as teacher in Adult Class and a youth sponsor for many years. He was an avid classic muscle car enthusiast. Roger was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by one brother, Eddie Lee Watson. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Judy K. Watson; two sons, David Watson (Angie) and Robbie Watson (Georgette); six grandchildren: Jacob, Caleb, Hannah, Abigail, Luke, and Toby; two brothers, Charlie Watson (Joan) and Danny Watson (Francis); one sister, Evelyn Watkins (RC) of Lake City, FL; also, several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, at Poplar Springs Church of Christ with Don Wallace, Minister officiating. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 12. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 3 Centerview Drive, Suite 101, Greensboro, NC 27407. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Angie Collins for her love and assistance with Roger's care during his illness.
