Roland Bryson

KERNERSVILLE - Roland Bryson, 78, passed away Monday, May 7, 2012 at Gordon Health Care in Calhoun, GA. where he had resided for the past seventeen months. He was born October 21, 1933 in Chattoogo, GA, son of the late Grady W. Bryson and Tiney Garrett Bryson. Roland was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church in Walkertown and had served in the United States Navy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Balser Bryson; brother, Marvin Bryson; and sister, Vennie Knowles. Surviving are two brothers, William ""Billy"" Bryson, Grady ""Jack"" Bryson, Jr.; one sister, Evelyn Jones; special friends in his life were, Ashley Motsinger, Rhonda (Sweetie Pie), ""Grampa"" to Snookie, and ""Poppa B"" to Spencer. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory in Kernersville. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
