Romey Forest Bridges, Jr.

Mr. Romey Forest Bridges, Jr., 71, of Winston-Salem, NC died Friday, July 30, 2021 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Romey was a wonderful son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend. He graduated from Gardner-Webb University and served in the U.S. Air Force, achieving the rank of captain. Romey was a member of Northwest Baptist Church, where he served as deacon and enjoyed volunteering. He was a native of Forest City, NC and the son of the late Romey Forest and Margarethe Farkas Bridges. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Suzanne Wilkie Bridges; two daughters, Callie and her husband, Lee Smith of Seymour, TN and Claire and her husband, Brent Slade of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Abigail, Lucy, and William Forest Slade of Atlanta, GA; sister, Margit Blalock of Spindale, NC; and two brothers, Paul Bridges and wife, Teresa of Kernersville, NC and Ray Bridges of Winston-Salem, NC. A graveside service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Eternal Hills Memorial Park, 1565 Oakland Rd, Forest City, NC, 28043.
