Ronald Willard Benton

Mr. Ronald Willard Benton, 77, of Clemmons passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at his home. He was born September 4, 1932 in Philadelphia, PA to Willard Elwood and Emily Margerum Benton. Mr. Benton was a wonderful husband and father. He served in the U.S. Air Force for four years, and was retired from McDonnell Douglas after 20 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Wayne Franklin Benton. Surviving is his wife, Evelyn Benton of the home; three sons, Steven Benton of Winston-Salem, David Benton of Hansville, WA, and James Benton (Jennifer Doherty) of Seattle, WA; two grandsons, Alex Coldwell Benton and Zachary Richard Benton; a brother, Raymond Benton (Yvonne) of San Diego, CA; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, June 5 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or the cancer center of the donor's choice.
