Ronald Darius Carter

Mr. Ronald Darius Carter, 79, passed away on June 28, 2026, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on August 20, 1946, in Hickory, NC to the late Earlson Russell Carter and Dorothy Hilton Carter. Ronald retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company after almost 30 years of service. He had a passion for collecting and working on clocks. Ronald also enjoyed working in his garden and fishing, especially in Hobucken, NC. His other favorite pastimes included watching westerns and listening to country music. In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Stafford Carter, one son, Clyde Darius Carter, and his sister, Debbie Carter. He is survived by his significant other of 13 years, Elna Hancock, his grandson, Paul Andres Carter, his daughter-in-law, Mirta Carter, his brother, Vernon Carter (Kim), two nephews, a niece, and several special friends and church family. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, July 6, 2026, at Rural Hall Moravian Church with Rev. Andrew Craver officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Rural Hall Memorial Park.
