WALKERTOWN, NC--Ronald Curtis ""R.C."" Conrad passed away at his residence on February 1, 2014. R.C. was born on October 6, 1943 to Ralph Curtis Conrad and Lillian Smith Conrad in Forsyth County. After graduating from James A. Gray High School, he went on to serve his country in the Navy. R.C. then went to work for Stroh's Brewery, retiring after 30 years of service, and was a very proud Teamster. With a heart for the community, R.C. gave of himself as a Shriner, a 32nd degree Mason and a lifetime member of the VFW. He became recognized as a talented web designer for the City of Walkertown as well as a gifted photographer. He was also an avid race fan. R.C. was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years, Brenda Craddock Conrad; son, Randy Curtis Conrad and wife, Libby; 2 grandsons, Richard Curtis Conrad and Allen Christopher Conrad; a sister, Dell Conrad Johnson; and his lab-mix companion, ""Toby Dude."" Funeral services for Mr. Conrad will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at Gardens of Memory Walkertown mausoleum chapel with Rev. Bill Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
