Ronald Lee Morgan (“Ron”) a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, business owner, coach and friend, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2025, at the age of 82. Ron’s parents were John Harm Morgan and Lela Harding Morgan. He was born on June 3, 1943, in Tobaccoville, North Carolina. Ron was a steadfast example of love and laughter to everyone who knew him.

In his early years, Ron attended Oakridge Military Institute and then Newberry College. Ron became a successful business owner of Morcrete Construction Company and served for many years in the Army National Guard. Ron loved all sports, especially football, baseball, golf and basketball. He played semi-professional softball for Poindexter Lumber Company and turned his interest in sports into coaching. Ron believed in strong community and giving back. Ron coached youth football for 38 years with first with the Clemmons Cowboys, then with the Lewisville Titans and lastly with the Forsyth County Broncos. During that time, he participated in three national championship tournaments. He was a driving force behind the charter for North Davie Little League Baseball and coached the Mocksville American Legion baseball team. He loved coaching and helping young boys develop character and discipline through team sports and competition.

Ron loved a good prank and always made those around him laugh. He cracked jokes and always kept his players, friends and family on their toes with wit and humor. Ron loved people. He cherished holidays and backyard cookouts and never let special occasions pass without an opportunity to celebrate with good food, good friends, neighbors and those he loved. The fireworks were always amazing wherever Ron was for the 4th of July! He was adored by all who knew him. He never met a stranger he couldn’t make laugh.

Ron loved music, especially beach music. He taught himself to play guitar and keyboard. Many times, you could catch Ron singing classic gospel songs in his deep, baritone voice. He loved working in his yard and tinkering in his garage.

Ron was predeceased by two sisters, Barbara Ann Buie and Patricia Gail Montgomery as well as three brothers, James Bennett Morgan, Roger Eugene Morgan and Billy Joe Morgan.

Ron is survived by his sister, Janie Elizabeth Dahlke, as well as his wife, Charlotte Key Brown, his son Todd Morgan (wife Pam), his daughter Jill Elliotte (Shannon), step-children, Paige Ivey (Jordan), Travis Hixon (Mackenize), Stacy Davis (Steven), and Chip Petree (Tucker). Ron is also survived by four grandchildren, Amber Cox, Hali Cain, Grace Elliotte and Audrey Elliotte as well as ten step-grandchildren; including, Payton, Parker and Palmer Ivey, Wesley, Jackson and Anna Davis, Henry, Walter and George Petree and Jaxson Hixon. Two great-grandchildren, Cash Bolatto and Walker Cain.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Knollwood Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, North Carolina at 2:00 PM on December 26, 2025. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Forsyth County Broncos youth football program P.O. Box 1773, Clemmons, NC 27012.
