Ronald Lander Smith

KERNERSVILLE-Ronald Lander Smith, 78, a devoted husband and loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home. He was born October 17, 1936 in Forsyth Co. to the late Thurmond Taft and Nannie Ruth Frye Smith.

Mr. Smith spent his life farming. He was also a security guard for Adams Millis for many years. Ronald was a talented musician who played many instruments and loved spending time with his Little Cedar music family. He will be missed.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Hodges Smith, and a son-in-law, Eddie Derrah.

Surviving are his daughters, Teresa Jones and husband, Rodney, Vickie Neal and husband, Ched, and Sandy Derrah; grandchildren, Kristan and Kim Boggs, Christopher and Dylan Neal; and great-grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Tindall.

A Funeral Service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 18, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Susan Brookshire officiating. Burial will follow in Bunker Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel.
