Mrs. Rosa Briggs Alspaugh, 89, of Winston-Salem, passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on July 1, 1929 to the late Robert Alexander Briggs and Jettie Long Briggs. She is survived by her husband, Eben W. Alspaugh, daughter, Ann Davis and husband Carroll Davis, grandson, Ryan Davis, granddaughter, Caroline Davis, and sister, Dorothy B Hauser. Also surviving are six nieces and four nephews. Preceding her in death are a sister, Doris Booze and husband J.E. Booze, brother, DeWalden A. Briggs and wife Alice, and a brother-in-law, Marvin Hauser. Rosa was a graduate of Old Richmond High School and a long-time member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church. She was employed by Southern Bell for ten years and later enjoyed volunteering for Forsyth Memorial Hospital. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. A memorial will be conducted in her honor 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 7, 2018, at New Philadelphia Moravian Church, officiated by Rev. Dr. Worth Green. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to New Philadelphia Moravian Church, 4440 Country Club Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
