Rosalee Barnette

After 96 beautiful years of life, love, family, and memories, Rosalee passed away leaving behind a legacy that will continue through many generations. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. Her greatest joy in life was her family. She loved having family around her and treasured every moment spent together. She loved baking, canning, and growing tomatoes. Her house came not only with delicious food, but memories and love that she poured into everything she did.

She is survived by her loving children: Morse Billings and Louise; Ronnie Billings and Phyllis; Tony Billings and Karen; Dean Billings and Judy; Wanda Warden; and Randy Barnette and Kelly. Two stepdaughters Debbie Bare and Susie Hall.

She leaves behind a large and loving family, including her grandchildren: Barry Billings and Susan; Lisa Stanley and Tim; Todd Billings; Leann Church and Justin; Britt Church and Corrie; Michelle Williams and Zac; Wendy Billings; James Ray and Elizabeth; Allen Billings and Sarah; Clay Billings; Tim Whitaker; Tabitha Haley and David; Amber Carroll and Michael; Kristen Crotts and Jesse, Jordan Barnette; Michael Barnette and Rylee. Jamie Bare, Darlene Minton; and Laurie Billings, of Wilkes Co.; a Brother Fred Huie and several cherished great and great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Santford Barnette; her son, Steve Billings; and her grandson, Jason Billings.

While 96 years is a long and wonderful life, it never feels like enough time when you are saying goodbye to someone who means so much. Her family will miss her voice, her laughter, her hugs, her stories, and the familiar comfort of simply knowing she was there. She spent 96 years creating memories, building a family, and giving her love. We will miss her more than words can say, but we will carry her with us always. Rest peacefully, your work here is done, but your love will live on in all of us forever.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Bible Revival Ministries. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
