Rosemary Ives

IVES KernersvilleRosemary Ives, 90, passed away Friday, January 31, 2014 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born February 12, 1923 in Richmond, VA to the late Layton M. and Mary Kavanagh Ives. Miss Ives was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. She retired from the Department of Social Security. Preceding her in death were three brothers, Layton M. Ives, Jr., Martin B. Ives, and Richard H. Ives. Surviving is a sister, Therese Armstrong (Linwood); 10 nieces and nephews, Kathy Boette (David), Dyke Armstrong (Lynn), Martin Armstrong (Laura), David Armstrong (Jan), Mike Armstrong (Stacey), Layton Ives (Patty), Eddie Ives, Betty West (Lynn), Martin Ives (Jean), and Jean Marie Clossey; also surviving are several great nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in High Point, NC with Father Vincent Smith officiating. An inurnment will follow at the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
