Roy Lee Burger

Mr. Roy Lee Burger, 86, of Lexington passed away December 24, 2013. Mr. Burger was born November 24, 1927, in Forsyth County to Frades Blen and Gracie Tucker Burger. Roy retired from RJ Reynolds after thirty-seven and a half years of service. After retiring he moved to the coast where he loved fishing and one of his great joys was teaching his grandchildren to fish. Roy is preceded in death by his parents, and two daughters; Nancy Burger, and Sharon Sweatland. He is survived by his wife of 68 years; May Burger, four daughters; Barbara Sharp (John), Emily Mosley (Rick), Julia Purdy (Rick), Margaret Laudien (Sven), one son; Roy Lee Burger Jr. (Barbara), thirteen grandchildren, twenty- three great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday December 30, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Van Nelson officiating.
