Roy Ivan Church

Mr. Roy Ivan Church, 86, passed away Friday, November 22, 2013 at the Oaks at Forsyth. He was born August 30, 1927 to the late Doctor Grant and Beatrice Rash Church. Mr. Church was a veteran of the U.S. Army and Navy. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and served as a missionary in Quito, Ecuador. Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruth Church; brothers, George and Paul Church and a sister, Ruth Helderman. Surviving are a daughter, Karen Thomas (Don); three sons, Keith Church (Barbara), Gordon Church (Kyle), and Steve Church (Debbie); 7 grandchildren; sisters, Audrey Warden and Joyce Hendrix; brothers, Alvin Church and Earl Church; also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Dr. Gary Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calvary Baptist Church Missions Fund, 5000 Country Club Rd., Winston-Salem, NC 27104 or a charity of the donor's choice.
