Roy Howard Lumbert

Mr. Roy Howard Lumbert, 73, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, December 25, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born October 1, 1941 in Cleveland, OH to Edward and Clara Alaburada Lumbert. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Lumbert was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Sandra Best Lumbert; two sons, Keith Lumbert (Kristin) of Winston-Salem and Kevin Lumbert of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Makenzie and Tristan Lumbert; two sisters, Shirley Beaumont (David) of Kent, OH and Charlotte Burazzi (Joe) of Eastlake, OH. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home. A graveside service will be held at 12:00 Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
