Roy "Lionell" Moore

Mr. Roy ""Lionell"" Moore, age 83 passed away at his home in Tobaccoville Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Mr. Moore was born in Stokes County October 31, 1931 to the late Ray Herman Moore and late Bertha Garner Moore. He was a member of Jefferson Church of Christ in Rural Hall, a member of the King Masonic Lodge, Owner / operator of MC Moore Trucking and was an insurance agent for All American Insurance Company for thirty years. Lionell enjoyed his classic cars and helping his church family and everyone in his community. In addition to his parents Lionell was preceded in death by one brother, Maldon Ray Moore.
Mr. Moore is survived by his wife of 62 years of marriage, Ruth Jessup Moore of the home. Two daughters; Deborah M. Tuttle and Terry (Charles) Kaiser both of Winston-Salem. One son, Morris (Denise) Moore of Siloam. Six grandchildren; Tora Lowe, Matthew Moore, Christopher Moore, Kathryn Moore, Melissa Cranston, and Cliff Kaiser, and five great-grandchildren. One sister, Patsy Snyder of Rural Hall. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Moore will be held Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 6:00 P.M. at Jefferson Church of Christ in Rural Hall by Jerry Simpkins, Minister. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Moore will lie-in-state at the church from 5:00 P.M. until time for the funeral service. The family will receive friends at the church following the committal service. Memorials may be made to Jefferson Church of Christ Building Fund, 8200 Jefferson Church Road, Rural Hall, NC. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall is serving the Moore family.
