Roy Otis Newman

Roy Otis Newman, 77, of Winston-Salem passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Wake Forest Baptist Health. Mr. Newman was born in Virginia on October 6, 1935 to Elmer Roy and Elva Coleman Newman. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Newman is survived by a wife, Peggy H. Newman of 57 years; four daughters, Alice Day and husband Henry, Irene Fine and husband, Tommy, Lorraine Rashwan, and Betty Collins and husband Richard; two sons, William and Larry Newman; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ella Jolicoeur and husband, Mike; a nephew, Adam Jolicoeur and wife Tonya; and a special pet Sassy. A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Monday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Parkway.
