Roy Lee Slater

Roy Lee Slater, 95, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was born in Forsyth County, NC on May 29, 1931, to the late John and Cora Taylor Slater. Mr. Slater served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of West Bend Baptist Church. Mr. Slater enjoyed farming and was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Preceding him in death was his wife, Sue Slater; brother, Evan Slater and two sisters, Grace Slater and Flossie Slater. Surviving is his son, Jimmy Slater; granddaughter, Amber Slater and two great-grandchildren, Ty Wilson and Ashanna LeChae Stover. A funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at West Bend Baptist Church with Dr. Jennings O’Neil officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Hayworth-Miller Lewisville Chapel is serving the family of Mr. Slater.
