Roy Lee Walker

Mr. Roy Lee Walker, 76, died on January 24, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Roy was the first son of Richard and Virginia Walker, born on October 15, 1939. He worked for and then co-owned Davie Oil Company. He had a peach orchard by his home for years. Roy enjoyed gardening and his mountain house in Hillsville, VA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances York Walker and a brother, Gurney Walker. Surviving are two sons, Gene (Margaret) and Stephen (Cammie); three grandchildren, Lauren (Adam) Pilcher, Weston and Luke Walker; two brothers, Lewis and Frank Walker. A graveside service will be held 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Green Meadows Baptist Church with Mr. Marty Carter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Smith Grove Fire Department or Farmington Fire Department in appreciation of their dedicated service.
