Ruben Johnson

Mr. Ruben Johnson, 87, of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at his home surrounded by his family.

Ruben was born on May 23, 1938, in Wilkes County, NC, to the late Robert Johnson and Esther Mathis Johnson. He enjoyed golfing and trips to the beach in his free time, and also raced cars at Bowman Gray Stadium. Ruben adored his family and loved spending time with them.

In addition to his parents, Ruben was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Betty Ann Carter Johnson; one son, Dennis Johnson; and one grandson, Landon “Ace” Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are his two sons, Todd Johnson (Joann), and Kevin Johnson; special granddaughter, Brittany Williams (Michael); six grandsons, Devon Johnson, Zachary Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Mason Johnson, T.J. Johnson, and Austin Johnson; and three great-grandchildren, Brayden, Elise, and Everett.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, April 13, 2026, in the Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.

The family will receive friends from 12:30PM to 1:30PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
