Ruby Lee Lane Bishop

Mrs. Ruby Lee Lane Bishop, 80, of Pinnacle went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 30, 2013, at her home. She was born in Stokes Co. on May 27, 1933. She was the daughter of the late Roy Chester Lane and Archabell Jones Lane. Mrs. Bishop graduated from Pinnacle High School in 1951. She met her husband, Charles W. Bishop, and was married on April 3, 1953. Mrs. Bishop was a member of Mount Zion United Methodist Church. She retired from Stokes Co. Schools and Central Telephone Company. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Charles W. Bishop; a daughter, Sharon Lynn Bishop; and a brother, Raymond Lane. Mrs. Bishop is survived by two wonderful children, a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Dale Hundley of Pinnacle and a son, Mickey Charles Bishop of the home; two grandsons, Matthew Cecil of Winston-Salem and Sidney Cecil (Morgan) of Winston-Salem; a step-grandson, Jimmy Hundley; a step-great-granddaughter, Britney Hundley; a sister-in-law, Neva Bishop of Walkertown; a very special caregiver and friend, Minnie Oliver of Pinnacle. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Mount Zion United Methodist Church in Pinnacle with the Rev. Dianne Marsden officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday evening, January 3, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall and at other times at the residence. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care, 129 Veterans Dr., Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or Mount Zion United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 155, Pinnacle, NC 27043.
