Ruby Parks Hicks

Mrs. Ruby Parks Hicks, 87, passed away at Clemmons Village in Clemmons, NC on January 7, 2017, with Harold, her husband of 55 years, and many family members by her side. Ruby was born on July 19, 1929 in Forsyth County to Lindsay Marion Parks and Mittie Lou Parks. She retired from Western Electric Company/AT&T after more than 30 years of service. Ruby enjoyed a long retirement and most enjoyed spending time with Harold, along with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, two brothers and four sisters, and her granddaughter, Courtney Ernest. Survivors include three sons, Terry Ernest, (wife Glenda), Toccoa, GA; Richard Ernest, (wife Sharron), Lewisville, NC; Harold Hicks Jr, (wife Annette), Barnesville, GA; one daughter, Karen Bohannon, (Husband Craig), Charlotte, NC; three grandsons, Jonathan Bohannon, Charlotte, NC; Coleman Hicks, Barnesville, GA; David Ernest, Toccoa, GA; five granddaughters, Nicole Ernest Stowe, Hampstead, NC; Amity Bohannon McNeal, Chillicothe, Oh; Kirsten Hicks, Barnesville, GA; Amy Ernest Johnson, Toccoa , GA; Julie Ernest, Toccoa, GA; and sister Flossie Parks Holder, King NC. A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Parklawn Memorial Park, Winston-Salem, NC .
