Ruby Wagoner

Mrs. Ruby Newman Wagoner, 92, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018. She was born November 15, 1925 in Surry County to the late Fletcher Newman and Bertha Billings Newman. Ruby was a Charter member of Bethany Baptist with more than 60 years of service to the church. She was also employed by Hanes Knitting for more than 40 years. In addition to her parents, Ruby is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Wayne Wagoner; four brothers: Bill Newman, Jack Newman, Bob Newman, and Jim Newman; and two sisters, Reba Rogers Brown and Nell Dudley. She is survived by her son, Michael Wayne Wagoner; her daughter, Sandi Bonds (Michael); two grandchildren, Kristina Bonds and Taylor Bonds; and two brothers, Don Newman (Loraine) and Johnny Newman. A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM Monday, August 20, 2018 at Bethany Baptist Church, with Dr. Brad Stamey and Pastor Brian Alverson officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service.
