Rubye White

KERNERSVILLE - Rubye Lou Lankford White, 96, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Oak Forest Nursing and Rehab. Rubye was born on November 13, 1921 in Stokes County to William Luther and Lula Alley Lankford. She was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and the Robert West Sunday School Class. Rubye retired from Adams Millis Hosiery Mill in 1986.
In addition to her parents, Rubye was preceded in death by her husband, Wade White; a son, Michael H. White; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her son, Timothy Wade White (Susan); five grandchildren, Ashley Wilson (Chris), Graham White all of Kernersville, Michelle Treadway (Scott) of Winston-Salem, John Riley (Heather) of Raleigh, and Kimberly Nelson (Roger) of Pleasant Garden; four great grandchildren, Grayson Treadway, Drake Riley, Alexis Riley, and Samantha Nelson; one sister, Ruth Ingram of Kernersville; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018 at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Dan Lyons officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
