Ruth Deas

Kernersville – Mrs. Ruth Jeanette Jones Deas, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2020 at her residence. She was born in Henritta, NC on January 26, 1938 to Johnnie and Esther Pritchard Jones. Ruth enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, and traveling, especially to the beach. She also loved her cats very much. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Earlis Deas; and her youngest daughter, Lori Hopkins.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Reynolds, Jean Eagon, and Joan Jones; eight grandchildren, Jason Higgins, Angela Jones, Amy Jones, Christopher Proctor, Daniel Higgins, Michelle Proctor, Lori Welch, and Anna Williams; twelve great grandchildren; and one special nephew, Jerry Luckadoo.

A funeral service for Ruth will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel with Rev. Kevin Kilbreth officiating. Interment will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont at 1801 Westchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262.
