Ruth Harding Lillie

Ruth Harding Lillie, 97, died on Tuesday, June 10, 2025.

Ruth was born in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Joseph Robert Harding and Lila Sandefer Harding. She was employed by the Defense Department and Fruit Growers Express in Alexandria, Va.

In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband in 1999, Harold M. Lillie. She was also preceded in death by six siblings, Ethel, Robert Jr., Beatrice, William, Walter, and Jerry.

Surviving family includes numerous nieces and nephews; and many cousins and extended family.

Ruth will lie-in-state for viewing, for family and friends, from Friday, June 13th through Sunday June 15th by appointment at the Robert F. Miller Center at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. *Please note: Due to the current construction at the funeral home, please call in advance at 336-765-8181 to notify the funeral home staff of the day and time of your arrival before traveling to see Ruth.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at Sherwood Forest United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ben Sloan officiating. Burial will take place the following day, Monday, June 30th at 10:00 AM at Woodland Cemetery.
