Ruth Hensley

Mrs. Ruth Lee Young Butner Hensley, 85, of King passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at Universal Healthcare. Ruth was born in Stokes County to the late Albert Thomas Young and Martha Etta Green Young on June 15, 1933. She was of the Methodist faith, and was a very caring and loving person to all she came in contact with. Ruth loved life and had a great since of humor. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Donald Butner and second husband William Hensley; sisters, Mildred Boles and Josephine Beasley; brothers, Paul Young; Ralph Young and James David Young. She is survived by her loving daughters, Terry Butner Samuels and Karen Butner Dew, both of Winston-Salem; five grandchildren, Jaime Butner; Suzanne Smith; Karrah Durham; Taylor Durham and Sterling Dew; two great-grandchildren, Jaren and Peyton Smith. A celebration of life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Palmyra United Methodist Church in Germanton, NC with the Rev. John Bishop officiating. Family will receive friends after the service. A heartfelt thank-you to the staff of Universal Healthcare.
