Ruth Hall Henry Hickman, our beautiful and loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and mother-in-law passed away at Forsyth Medical Center on Sunday, December 14th, 2014. She was born September 1, 1931 in Savannah, Ga. to Bessie Thompson Henry and William Wesley Henry. She grew up on Tybee Island, Ga. and was a resident of Charlotte, NC for many years. She graduated from Lees-McRae College School of Medical Technology in 1951 and was employed by The Nalle Clinic in Charlotte. She loved animals of all kinds, but was particularly drawn to cats and strays. She also never met a stranger as she always would start a conversation with you in line, seated next to you or upon meeting you. She was a beautiful soul who's wit and humor will be sorely missed, but we will be forever grateful for her. Mrs Hickman is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jack Hickman,Sr. of the home, a son, Jack (Karen) Hickman,Jr. of St Petersburg, FL; a daughter, Toni (John) McClain of Winston - Salem; three granddaughters, Sarah McClain of Winston-Salem, NC, Lindsay (Josh) McClain Summey of Stanley, NC and Rylee Hickman of St Petersburg, FL. and a sister, Faye (Bernie) Duplessis of Oxford, PA. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Forsyth Humane Society, 61 Miller St. Winston-Salem, NC 27104. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
