Ruth Bumgardner Wooten

Ruth Bumgardner Wooten, 95, passed away Friday, July 3, 2026, at Vienna Village Assisted Living. She was born in Forsyth County on September 24, 1930, to the late Ezra and Ada Bullins Bumgardner. Mrs. Wooten was a lifelong member of Maple Springs United Methodist Church. Preceding her in death was her husband, Harold Wooten who passed in 2000; two brothers, Royce and Billy Bumgardner and a sister, Mary Katherine Bumgardner. Surviving are two daughters, Patty Winfrey (Joe) and Cindy Poindexter (Tom); three grandchildren, Brian Winfrey (Shawn), Christopher Poindexter (Cella), and Emily Winfrey (fiancé, Travis Montgomery); also surviving are three great-grandchildren, Adryan Poindexter and Jacob and Joseph Winfrey.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Forsyth Memorial Park with Rev. Gary Mahathey officiating. The family greatly appreciates the excellent care given to Mrs. Wooten over the last 3 1/2 years by all staff members and especially her care and support given during the last 3 months. Our thanks and gratitude to all.
