Sadie Raynor Jones

Ellen Rose Raynor (nicknamed Sadie) was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, on March 7, 1932. Sadie married her childhood sweetheart, William Jones, in 1948. William (known as Vernon to many) and Sadie were married nearly 60 years before his death in 2007. They modeled a faithful marriage and traveled the world while Vernon served in the United States Army for 25 years.

Sadie Jones was a fervent prayer warrior and daily reader of God's word. Her ears were always ready to listen and her hands ready to help. She giftedly played any available piano and eagerly lifted her voice in song. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking and any activity that gathered her family together.

Sadie loved her siblings Mary Ruth, Eddie, and Charles, whom she was close to throughout her life. She had four children: Ellen, (John) Jeff (Jennifer), Jo Ann and Mark (Amanda). Sadie was blessed with six grandchildren: Scott, Meredith (Michael) Mallory (David), James, Morgan (Levi) and Lily. Her great grandchildren include Chloe, Caylen, Isaac, Hannah, Abigail, Grant, Grace, Olive, Willa and Briggs.

Sadie Jones is preceded in death by her three siblings, husband and son (Jeff).

Her life verse from 2 Timothy 1:12 reads "... for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that HE is able to keep that which I have committed unto HIM.” Sadie trusted God to take care of everyone and everything she committed into Jesus' hands. Heaven gained a beautiful soul and a good and faithful servant on December 25, 2025.
