Sammy Dan Marshall

Mr. Sammy Dan Marshall, 80, of Lexington, passed away Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Carolina House of Lexington. He was born May 18, 1934 in Yadkin County to Noah and Leona Pruitt Marshall who preceded him in death. Mr. Marshall was retired from RJR after 31 years of service. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church where he was a past deacon as well as church treasurer. Mr. Marshall owned Arcadia Electric and was a NC licensed electrician. He served four years in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict as a Sergeant. He enjoyed going to the beach and the mountains during his retirement, but foremost, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Surviving are his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Cochrane Marshall of Lexington; one son, Shannon Marshall and wife Amy of Mooresville; one granddaughter, Katie Maness of Mooresville; one sister, Olene Burchette of Winston-Salem; and his loving four-legged companion, Smokey. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Randy Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family would like to thank the staff of Carolina House of Lexington and Hospice of Davidson County for their care and support.
