Samuel Shepard Brake

Samuel Shepard Brake (11) of Clemmons, passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016. Sam was born on December 29, 2004 in Lenoir, NC to Jonathan and Alisa Shepard Brake. Sam was ""all boy,"" full of energy and life, and was always helping others any way that he could. He loved playing basketball, being outdoors, finding arrowheads, building things, and the Carolina Tarheels. Sam won several awards for his artwork and loved creating gifts for others such as drawings, writing stories, or making things out of the recycling bin. A fifth grader at Clemmons Elementary, and a Cub Scout with Pack 736, he made friends everywhere he went, giving hugs, high-fives, and big smiles. Sam is survived by his parents, three sisters, Bethany, Katie Grace, and Alison, two cats and his fish, Cap. His memorial service will be Saturday, January 16, 2016 at 11:00am at Clemmons United Methodist Church with receiving of friends to follow. Sam always wanted to give food to homeless persons, so in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Clemmons Food Pantry, PO Box 871, Clemmons NC 27012 or to HOPE of Winston-Salem, Inc., 844 Glen Echo Trail, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
