Sandra Jean Stewart Alderman August 19, 1949 - February 11, 2026
Sandra “Sandy” Jean Stewart Alderman, 76, passed away on February 11, 2026.
Born on August 19, 1949, in Anniston, Alabama, Sandy was the daughter of the late Henry Arnold Stewart and Mary Kathryn Bussey Stewart. She spent most of her life in High Point & Winston Salem, North Carolina, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, friendship, and hard work.
Strong-minded and independent, Sandy had a gift for conversation and never met a stranger. Her warmth and outgoing spirit made others feel welcome wherever she went. A woman of deep faith, she found joy and fellowship in her church community and cherished the time she spent with her church groups.
Sandy had a lifelong love of beach music, which became part of the rhythm of her life. Whether it was a favorite song playing or a gathering with friends, music brought her happiness and connection.
She was dedicated to her work throughout her life. After earning her associate’s degree in the 1960s, she spent more than a decade working at Baptist Hospital and later served for ten years as a tax preparer with Jackson Hewitt, where she assisted many with care and diligence.
Above all, Sandy was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Eric Alderman (Tabatha) and Jacob Alderman; and her three beloved grandchildren, Violet, Claire, and Ella. Her family was her greatest pride and joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel, with Rev. Francis Smith officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Celebration of Life at the funeral home.
