Sandra Kay Diener Nicastro

Mrs. Sandra Kay Diener Nicastro, age 79 of Bermuda Run, passed away Monday, February 23, 2026 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 24, 1946 in Sheboygan, WI to the late Oliver Arthur Diener and Frances Bunkelman Diener.

She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Curtis Diener.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph F. Nicastro; three children, Kevin Nicastro (Rebecca), Ann Gibson (Daniel) and Anthony Nicastro (Jaime); six grandchildren; one sister, Kay Leeson (Dick) and one sister-in-law, Dian Diener.

She worked as a tax accountant and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity helping to rebuild homes after Hurricane Katrina. As a member of Augsburg Lutheran Church, she volunteered for many years serving the homeless community.

She was very social and loved to travel and hike with friends and family. She also found enjoyment quilting, sewing and sharing her talent with others. But most of all, her greatest joy was spending precious time with her children and grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 am Friday, March 6, 2026 at Augsburg Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul A. Wollner. The family will receive friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County.
