Sandra King Myrum

Mrs. Sandra King Myrum, 68, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, December 14, 2014 after a battle with breast cancer. She was a native of Virginia and moved to North Carolina in the late seventies. Her educational studies were concentrated in Management and Economics at Guilford College. Her entire professional career of 33 years was spent in Human Resources Management where she served with General Cinema (Pepsi Cola), Newman Machine, Newton Instrument, and Volvo Trucks. After retiring from Volvo, she launched her HR Consulting Business which served her well for several years. She and her husband are members of Becks Baptist Church. Sandra enjoyed church activities, sharing and giving to others, gardening, camping, nature, and writing poetry. She will be greatly missed by her husband, family, and her many friends who were the recipients of her kind, compassionate, and generous life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hazel Bell Collins King and Roy Elmer King; and five siblings. She is survived by her husband, Donald Myrum; two step daughters, Debbie DuBois (Denis) and Lori Stewart (Rick); six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 20 at Becks Baptist Church with Dr. Karl Minor officiating. A committal service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 19 at the church.
