Sandra Poole, know to her friends as “Sandy” and by her family as “Nana” died suddenly on February 5, 2023 in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Preceded in death by her mother Julia Kathryn Moynihan, her father Rennie M. Coates; and her brother Edward A. Moynihan. She is survived by her siblings, Mary L. Humble (Ralph), James P. Daggon (Jill), Kathryn I. Moynihan, Laurie A. Leone (Arthur) and Deborah R. McCallister (Scott); her children, Leslie McKessy, Richard Poole and John Poole (Nisa). Sandy was a beloved grandmother to William McKessy (Lindsey), Ryan McKessy, John Poole (Rebecca Lewis), Brittney Howell (Tristain Assouline), and Nick Bunsuwan (Sittigorn). She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Chandler, Alexis, Isabel, Colton, Reed, Leo, and Jayce. Sandy was particularly close to her extended family, Robyn Howell-Poole, Mary and Jim Brown, Conni and Don Smith, Becca, Gabriel and Arianna Velez, Rosemarie Palmieri and her friend Sandra Adams.

Sandy was born in Syracuse, New York. Sandy married and raised her family in Norwalk, Connecticut while working at the family jewelry business, John Poole Jewelers.

She moved to Valencia, California in 1981 where she became a successful real estate agent. Sandy retired in 2005 and moved to Winston Salem, North Carolina. In her retirement she enjoyed spending time with her family, marathon shopping trips and attending family functions. She had a passionate love for her cats and dogs. Sandy will be remembered for her infectious laugh and the love she extended and received from her family and friends.
